Plan Options

In order to meet your campus dining needs, we have designed the following meal plans for the academic year. If you need to purchase a meal plan, or if you would like to make a change to the plan you have already selected, simply contact the housing department office at (415) 618-6335.

Out with the old, In with the new!
Our meal plans have upgraded from being by the week to by the semester (also known as block plans). Previously, during the fall and spring, meal plans would reset between Sunday and Monday mornings. Now with our new block plans, meals can be used anytime throughout the semester twice per meal!

Platinum Block 325 & $100Knight Kash - Price: $4,811

Designed for the student who eats most or all their meals in our cafés, this plan offers an abundance of flexibility and value. On this plan, a resident may visit the dining room up to 325 meals throughout the semester. Each entrance to the dining room deducts one meal from the plan and two visits are allowed per meal. In addition, students with this plan receive $100 Knight Kash (redeemable at all participating cafes), 5 meal credits to bring guests, and 5 free drinks at our Starbucks locations per week.

Gold Block 240 & $250 Knight Kash - Price: $4,811

On this plan, a resident may visit the dining room up to 240 meals throughout the semester. In addition, students with this plan receive $250 Knight Kash (redeemable at all participating cafes), 4 meal credits to bring guests, and 4 free drinks at our Starbucks locations per week.

Silver Block 170 & $350 Knight Kash - Price: $4,811

Designed for students who will dine less frequently in our cafés, this meal plan combines $350.00 of Knight Kash (redeemable at all participating cafes) and up to 170 meal visits throughout the semester, 3 meal credits to bring guests, and 3 free drinks at our Starbucks locations per week. Each entrance to the dining room deducts one meal from the student’s plan.

Palladium Block 85 & $50 Knight Kash - Price: $1,815

This plan is designed for those not living on campus who want the convenience and value of dining in our cafes. The plan is a tremendous value for returning students and off campus students. On this plan, a student has 85 meal visits available for the semester. Each entrance to the dining room deducts one meal from the plan and two visits are allowed per meal. In addition, students with this plan receive $50 Knight Kash (redeemable at all participating cafes), 3 meal credits to bring guests, and 5 free drinks at our Starbucks locations.

Bronze Block 40 & $200 Knight Kash - Price: $850

This plan is designed for those not living on campus who want the convenience and value of dining in our cafes. The plan is a tremendous value for returning students and off campus students. On this plan, a student has 40 meal visits available for the semester. Each entrance to the dining room deducts one meal from the plan and two visits are allowed per meal. In addition, students with this plan receive $200 Knight Kash (redeemable at all participating cafes), 2 meal credits to bring guests, and 4 free drinks at our Starbucks locations.

Copper Block 20 & $180 Knight Kash - Price: $500

This plan is designed for those not living on campus who want the convenience and value of dining in our cafes. The plan is a tremendous value for returning students and off campus students. On this plan, a student has 20 meal visits available for the semester. Each entrance to the dining room deducts one meal from the plan and two visits are allowed per meal. In addition, students with this plan receive $180 Knight Kash (redeemable at all participating cafes), 1 meal credits to bring guests, and 3 free drinks at our Starbucks locations.

Beverage Meal Plan 3 - Price: $99

Enjoy drinks per week at any of our ArtU Convenience stores (see the drop down menu above). For a value of $252 per semester, you're saving 70%+ compared to buying the same amount of drinks from a non-campus Starbucks location. The perks don't stop there! Craving something other than coffee or tea? The beverage plan is not limited to Starbucks drinks and can be used for bottled beverages. Save money while staying hydrated.

Iron 85 & $50 Knight Kash - Price: $1,415

This plan is designed for faculty and staff who like eating on campus and enjoy the convenience of dining in our cafes. The plan is a truly incredible value for faculty and staff. Individuals may dine at any of our all you care to eat cafes -iHouse Cafe or 620 Cafe - with this plan up to a total of eighty five times per semester. Each entrance deducts one meal from their plan.

In addition, $50.00 in Knight Kash will be available for us in our retail cafe locations - 180 Café, Café Dior and Art Café - as well as the participating Knight Kash merchants. Knight Kash is reloadable at anytime online, just look at the "Manage Your Meal Plan" section below for more.

The Academy of Art University created the Knight Kash program to be the ultimate complement to your university experience. Your AAU Student ID can be used for dining on campus, but we realize that students and parents want more. So we partnered with your favorite off campus merchants to give you the ultimate flexibility, variety and value you deserve.

Knight Kash is a stored value meal program, which can be used just like cash. It may be used at any campus dining location (Cafés and Kiosks) and any participating Knight Kash merchant. Adding points to your account may be done at anytime. The Knight Kash program will enhance the student experience and broaden student access to local restaurants and merchants. Giving students the capability to use their Knight Kash debit account off campus provides added flexibility for their meal plan.
